In this part, students will examine trigonometric graphs. Students will be able to transform the graphs and describe the amplitude, period, and shifts of the functions. Students will be able to identify “key points” on the graphs including maximums, minimums and intercepts and discuss characteristics including continuity, periodicity, end behavior (oscillation), symmetry, and domain.
PRIOR KNOWLEDGE Graph trigonometric functions, understand periodic nature, familiar with periodic phenomena they model. ??? ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS ???
How can the ideas of accepted mathematical notions be extended to explain phenomena?
How do I analyze functions with periodicity and how can I use them to model periodic phenomena?
VOCABULARY WORDS Vocabulary Words through Quizlet.
